Why Some Metrics May Show Zero Values.

When you first start using GrowthOptix, you may notice that some dashboards or metrics show zero values or appear empty.

In most cases, this is completely normal and part of the setup process.

This article explains the most common reasons why this happens and what you can do about it.

Zero Values Don’t Mean Something Is Broken.

GrowthOptix only shows data that is actually being tracked or connected.

If a metric shows 0, it usually means that:

  • The required data source is not active yet, or

  • No real activity has occurred during the selected time range.

Once data starts flowing, dashboards update automatically.

Common Reasons Metrics Show Zero.

1. A Data Source Is Not Connected Yet

Some dashboards depend on specific data sources.

For example:

  • Revenue dashboards require Stripe and/or PayPal to be connected.

  • Marketing spend metrics require ad platform integrations.

If a source isn’t connected, related metrics will remain empty.

2. The Tracking Script Is Not Installed.

Marketing Attribution metrics depend on the GrowthOptix Tracking Script.

Without the script:

  • Visits and clicks cannot be tracked.

  • Landing pages and referrers won’t appear.

  • Events won’t be recorded.

Until the script is installed and active, Marketing Attribution dashboards may show zero values.

3. Events Have Not Been Configured.

Conversions, revenue, and performance metrics rely on events.

If no events are defined:

  • Conversion counts will be zero

  • Conversion Rate cannot be calculated

  • Revenue attribution will be missing

At least one event (such as a lead, signup, or sale) must be configured for these metrics to appear.

4. There Has Been No Real User Activity Yet.

If your account is brand new:

  • There may simply be no visits or conversions yet.

  • Dashboards will remain empty until users interact with your site.

This is expected, especially during the first hours or days.

5. The Selected Date Range Has No Data

Dashboards only show data that falls within the selected time range.

If:

  • Your script was installed yesterday, but

  • You’re viewing “Last 30 days”.

Then metrics may appear empty.

Try adjusting the date range to include the period when tracking started.

How to Check If Everything Is Working.

If you’re unsure whether your setup is correct, here’s a quick checklist:

  • Payment gateways are connected (for revenue data).

  • The GrowthOptix Tracking Script is installed and firin.g

  • At least one event is configured.

  • The date range includes recent activity.

If all of these are in place, data should start appearing naturally.

Good to Know

  • Metrics update automatically as new data arrives.

  • There is no need to refresh or reconfigure dashboards.

  • Zero values early on are common and expected.

  • GrowthOptix does not generate or estimate data.

What to Do Next

If metrics remain empty after completing setup and receiving traffic:

  • Double-check your script installation.

  • Review event configuration.

  • Confirm integrations are connected correctly.
