What Happens When You Disconnect a Data Source.

Disconnecting a data source in GrowthOptix affects how data is collected and displayed across your dashboards.

This article explains what changes, what stays the same, and what to expect after a disconnection.


What Does “Disconnecting a Data Source” Mean?

When you disconnect a data source, you are stopping GrowthOptix from receiving new data from that source.

Depending on the type of source, this may include:

  • Revenue integrations (Stripe, PayPal).

  • Marketing integrations (Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, etc.).

The disconnection only affects future data collection.


What Happens to Existing Data?

Disconnecting a data source does not delete historical data.

  • Past data already collected remains visible in your dashboards.

  • Historical metrics, charts, and tables are preserved.

  • Reports generated before the disconnection remain unchanged.

GrowthOptix never removes historical data unless explicitly deleted.


What Happens After Disconnection?

Once a data source is disconnected:

  • No new data will be synced from that source.

  • Dashboards may stop updating for metrics related to that source.

  • Some metrics may show zero values for future periods.

  • Blended views may reflect partial data if other sources remain connected.

This behavior is expected and does not indicate an error.


Can I Reconnect the Data Source Later?

Yes.

You can reconnect a previously disconnected data source at any time from Settings.

After reconnection:

  • New data will start flowing again.

  • Historical data remains intact.

  • Metrics resume updating going forward.

GrowthOptix does not retroactively fill gaps for periods when the source was disconnected.


Important Things to Know

  • Disconnecting a source does not affect your external platforms.

  • Billing or ad accounts are never modified by GrowthOptix.

  • Disconnections require user action and confirmation.

  • Only authorized users can manage data source connections.


When Should You Disconnect a Data Source?

Common reasons include:

  • Pausing a marketing channel.

  • Switching billing providers.

  • Cleaning up unused or test integrations.

  • Troubleshooting configuration issues.
