When you connect a new data source to GrowthOptix, the platform doesn’t only start tracking data from that moment forward.
This article explains how historical data is handled, how far back it goes by default, and what to expect during the sync process.
What Happens When You Connect a Data Source.
After connecting a data source (such as Stripe, PayPal, or a Marketing Integration):
GrowthOptix starts importing historical data automatically.
Past data is fetched before dashboards fully stabilize.
Metrics may update retroactively while processing is ongoing.
This process runs in the background and requires no manual action.
Historical Data Availability by Source.
Payment Platforms (Stripe & PayPal).
For Stripe and PayPal, GrowthOptix retrieves:
Up to 3 years of historical data by default.
This includes transactions, subscriptions, revenue, and related metrics.
The historical range is determined by API access and account availability.
Once connected, this data is imported and reflected across Revenue Analytics dashboards.
Marketing Integrations (Google Ads, Meta, etc.)
For marketing platforms, GrowthOptix retrieves:
The last 3 months of historical data at the moment the integration is connected.
For example:
If you connect a marketing integration on January 23, GrowthOptix will immediately import marketing data starting from October 23 up to January 23.
From that point forward:
Data updates automatically on a daily basis.
Each new day’s data is added as it becomes available from the marketing platform.
No additional backfill or manual action is required.
When you first connect a marketing platform to GrowthOptix, we automatically import up to 3 months of historical data. From that point forward, your data is continuously collected and preserved, allowing you to view your full performance history from the original connection date onward, as long as the integration remains active.
What You May Notice During Historical Sync.
While historical data is being imported, it’s normal to see:
Metrics changing retroactively.
Older dates filling in gradually.
Temporary differences across dashboards or date ranges.
These behaviors are expected and stop once historical processing completes.
What Happens After Historical Data Is Fully Loaded.
Once all available historical data has been imported:
Metrics stabilize.
Past periods stop recalculating.
Dashboards update only when new activity occurs.
At this point, your data can be considered fully synced and reliable.
Important Clarifications.
GrowthOptix does not modify, correct, or delete historical data.
No data is written back to Stripe, PayPal, or marketing platforms.
All data is read-only and reflects exactly what each source provides.
GrowthOptix acts purely as an analytics and reporting layer.
