Read-Only Access: What GrowthOptix Can and Cannot Do With Your Data

GrowthOptix connects to your financial and marketing platforms to provide analytics and insights. To do this safely, GrowthOptix operates under a read-only access model.

This article explains what read-only access means, what GrowthOptix can do with your data, and, just as importantly, what it cannot do.

What “Read-Only Access” Means.

When you connect a data source to GrowthOptix (such as Stripe, PayPal, or marketing platforms), you grant permission for GrowthOptix to read data only.

This means GrowthOptix can retrieve and analyze information, but it cannot make changes to your external platforms.

What GrowthOptix Can Do.

With read-only access, GrowthOptix can:

  • Read transactions, subscriptions, and revenue data.

  • Read marketing performance data such as spend, clicks, and campaign metadata.

  • Process events captured by the GrowthOptix Tracking Script.

  • Calculate metrics and display dashboards.

  • Analyze historical and ongoing data for reporting purposes.

All insights shown in GrowthOptix are based strictly on the data provided by your connected sources.

What GrowthOptix Cannot Do.

GrowthOptix cannot:

  • Modify, delete, or overwrite data in Stripe, PayPal, or marketing platforms.

  • Create, cancel, or update subscriptions.

  • Issue refunds, charges, or payments.

  • Change campaigns, budgets, creatives, or ad settings.

  • Execute actions inside your connected platforms.

Your source systems remain fully under your control.

Why This Matters.

Read-only access ensures:

  • Data safety and integrity.

  • Zero risk to billing, payments, or live campaigns.

  • Clear separation between analytics and operations.

  • Trust for finance, marketing, and technical teams.

GrowthOptix acts as an analytics and reporting layer, not an execution tool.

Important Clarification.

GrowthOptix does not “fix,” adjust, or correct source data.

If a metric looks unexpected, it reflects what is being reported by:

  • Your payment provider.

  • Your marketing platform.

  • Your tracking script and event setup.

Any changes must be made directly in the source system.

Security & Permissions

  • Permissions are granted during the connection or authorization process.

  • Access can be revoked at any time by disconnecting the data source.

  • GrowthOptix never escalates permissions beyond what you explicitly allow.
