What are Stripe Fees?

Stripe Fees refer to the transaction costs charged by Stripe when processing payments on your behalf. These fees typically include a percentage of the transaction amount plus a fixed fee, depending on your pricing agreement with Stripe and your customer’s location.

GrowthOptix automatically pulls this data from your Stripe account and makes it available in a dedicated Stripe Fees chart within your Revenue dashboards.

How are Stripe Fees calculated in GrowthOptix?

We calculate it using the following formula:

Stripe Fees = Σ (Transaction Fees reported by Stripe)

This metric includes:

  • Standard Stripe processing fees (e.g., 2.9% + $0.30)

  • International and currency conversion fees (if applicable)

  • Any extra charges applied by Stripe (e.g., for disputes or advanced features)

Only successful payments are considered in the fee calculation. Failed or refunded transactions are not included here (those are shown separately).

Where can I find this?

You’ll find the Stripe Fees tile within your Revenue dashboards on GrowthOptix. It’s typically located in the bottom section of the screen, and displays:

  • Total fees for the selected time range.

  • Fee trends over time (via line chart).

  • Percentage comparison with previous periods.

You can use the filters at the top of the dashboard to:

  • Change date range.

  • Compare with net or total revenue.

  • Group fees by day, week, or month.

Stripe Fees are refreshed every 10 minutes, so you always have up-to-date visibility.

Why is this metric important?

Understanding your Stripe fees is critical to:

  • Accurately calculate net revenue.

  • Forecast true profit margins.

  • Detect unexpected spikes in fees (e.g., due to dispute fees or international payments).

You can also use this insight to decide if switching plans or negotiating better rates with Stripe makes sense for your business.

Pro tip

Inside GrowthOptix, Stripe Fees are automatically subtracted when calculating your Net Revenue metric, so you can focus on real, retained income.
