By centralizing UTM creation, your team ensures consistent naming across all tracking links and accurate attribution in your analytics.

What Is a UTM Link?

A UTM link (Urchin Tracking Module) is a URL enhanced with parameters that tell GrowthOptix where the traffic originated.

Example (for demonstration only):

https://growthoptix.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=test-campaign&utm_term=my-term&utm_content=custom-content

Note: This link is an example. Your actual UTM link will be automatically generated based on the Base URL and parameters you enter.

Understanding the UTM Manager Table.

The UTM Manager lists all the UTM links created in your workspace.

Creating a New UTM Link.

Step 1: Click “Create UTM”.

In the top-right corner, click the + Create UTM button to start creating a new tracking link.

Step 2: Fill Out UTM Fields.

Enter your Base URL and the desired UTM parameters:

  • Base URL:
The landing page you want to track (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com).

  • utm_source:
Identifies the platform (google, facebook, linkedin).

  • utm_medium:
Defines the marketing channel (cpc, email, paid_social).

  • utm_campaign:
    Campaign name (fall_promo, subscription_launch).

  • utm_term (optional):
    Keywords or targeting descriptors.

  • utm_content (optional):
    Creative variations (video1, cta_button, image_a).

Viewing and Copying Your UTM Link.

After saving, you’ll see a preview modal with your fully generated UTM link.

You can copy it using the clipboard icon and paste it directly into your ads, emails, landing pages, SMS campaigns, or promotional content.

GrowthOptix automatically detects all UTM parameters through The Script, ensuring accurate attribution.

Editing and Managing UTM Links

  • Click View Link to open an existing UTM link.

  • Copy, edit, or regenerate the link anytime.

  • Updates to the link will appear immediately in your table.

Why It Matters

Using the UTM Manager ensures:

  • Clean and consistent naming conventions

  • Accurate campaign attribution

  • No spreadsheets or manual URL building

  • Better collaboration across marketing and performance teams

GrowthOptix connects every click, visit, and conversion back to the campaign that generated it.

Pro Tip: Standardize Your Naming.

For recurring campaigns, save time by using consistent UTM naming patterns:

utm_source=meta&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=summer_sale&utm_content=reel1
utm_source=email&utm_medium=drip&utm_campaign=launch2025&utm_content=cta_banner

This structure makes your reporting cleaner and your attribution much more reliable.
