This metric measures how much revenue your campaigns are generating, based on sales events detected on your website and attributed by GrowthOptix.

How Sales Amount Is Measured In GrowthOptix.

Sales Amount is measured on-site, not directly inside payment platforms or ad platforms.

GrowthOptix calculates Sales Amount when:

  • A sale event is triggered on your website.

  • The GrowthOptix Tracking Script detects the sale event.

  • The event is correctly classified as a sale.

  • A monetary value is associated with that sale event.

  • The sale is attributed to a source, campaign, or channel based on your attribution model.

Only sales that are successfully detected and processed by GrowthOptix are included.

Where To Find This Metric.

You can find Sales Amount across multiple Marketing Attribution views, including:

  • Marketing Attribution Overview.

  • Source-level tables.

  • Campaign-level tables.

  • Metric Chart View.

This allows you to analyze revenue performance by traffic source and campaign.

What’s Included In Sales Amount.

This metric includes:

  • The full monetary value associated with each sale event.

  • Revenue generated from initial sales.

  • Sales attributed to paid, organic, direct, or referral traffic.

  • Sales captured by the GrowthOptix Tracking Script.

  • Sales processed according to your selected attribution model (Last Touch, First Touch, etc.).

Each sale contributes its entire amount to Sales Amount.

What’s NOT Included.

Sales Amount does not include:

  • Revenue from upsells (tracked separately).

  • Refunds or chargebacks (unless explicitly handled in your setup).

  • Sales reported only inside Stripe, PayPal, or ad platforms.

  • Sales not detected by the Tracking Script.

  • Events without a valid monetary value.

  • Test or incomplete events not classified as sales.

Important Notes About Sales Amount.

  • Sales Amount reflects initial purchase value only.

  • Upsells and recurring revenue are tracked in separate metrics.

  • Attribution determines which source or campaign receives credit for the sale.

  • Numbers may differ from Stripe or PayPal due to attribution logic and event timing.

Sales Amount vs Total Revenue.

It’s important to understand the distinction:

  • Sales Amount: Revenue from initial sales only.

  • Total Revenue: Includes sales, upsells, renewals, and additional revenue events.

Sales Amount helps isolate new revenue generated by marketing activity.

Example: How Sales Amount Is Calculated.

Imagine the following scenario during a selected period:

  • 50 sales at $30 each

  • 20 sales at $75 each

  • 5 sales at $200 each

GrowthOptix calculates:

  • (50 × $30) = $1,500

  • (20 × $75) = $1,500

  • (5 × $200) = $1,000

Sales Amount = $4,000

Each sale contributes its full value, and attribution determines which source receives credit.

Why Sales Amount Matters.

Sales Amount helps you understand:

  • Which channels generate the most revenue.

  • How effective campaigns are at driving purchases.

  • The monetary impact of your marketing efforts.

  • Revenue performance beyond just clicks or traffic.

It becomes especially powerful when paired with:

  • Sessions: How much traffic converts into revenue.

  • Visitors: Revenue per unique device.

  • Paid Clicks / Organic Clicks: Traffic quality.

  • Conversion Rate: Efficiency of monetization.

  • ROAS / ROI: Profitability analysis.

Best Practices.

To ensure accurate Sales Amount tracking:

  • Install the Tracking Script on checkout and confirmation pages.

  • Ensure sales events include a valid monetary value.

  • Avoid duplicate sale events.

  • Validate attribution settings.

  • Test sales tracking after deployment.

Limitations & Important Notes.

  • Sales Amount depends entirely on correct event tracking.

  • Attribution models affect how revenue is distributed.

  • Platform-reported revenue may differ from GrowthOptix.

This metric reflects attributed, on-site revenue, not raw payment processor totals.

Need Help?

If Sales Amount shows zero or unexpected values:

  • Confirm sale events are firing correctly.
