This metric aggregates all key conversion events into a single number, giving you a high-level view of how often users take valuable actions on your website.

What Conversions Measure.

Conversions measure the total count of important user actions that you define as success events.

These actions typically include:

  • Leads.

  • Sign-ups.

  • Sales.

  • Upsells.

Each completed action counts as one conversion event.

How Conversions Are Measured In GrowthOptix.

Conversions are measured on-site, using the GrowthOptix Tracking Script.

GrowthOptix records a Conversion when:

  • A user completes a defined conversion event.

  • The event is captured successfully by the Tracking Script.

  • The event type matches a supported conversion category.

  • The event is attributed according to the selected attribution model.

Each qualifying event increments the Conversions count by one, regardless of value.

Conversion Formula.

Conversions are calculated as:

Conversions = Count of Events With Type IN (lead, signup, sale, upsell)

This means every qualifying event contributes equally to the total count.

Where To Find This Metric.

You can find Conversions in:

  • Marketing Attribution Overview.

  • Source-level tables.

  • Campaign-level tables.

  • Metric Chart View.

  • Different tables across Marketing Attribution.

This allows you to analyze conversion volume by channel, campaign, and attribution model.

What’s Included In Conversions.

This metric includes:

  • Lead events.

  • Sign-up events.

  • Sale events.

  • Upsell events.

  • Any user action explicitly defined as a conversion.

Each action counts as one conversion, regardless of monetary value.

What’s NOT Included.

Conversions do not include:

  • Page views.

  • Sessions.

  • Visitors.

  • Clicks without a conversion event.

  • Events not captured by the Tracking Script.

  • Non-configured or unsupported event types.

Conversions vs Sales vs Revenue.

These metrics answer different questions:

  • Conversions → How many meaningful actions occurred.

  • Sales → How many transactions were completed.

  • Revenue → How much money was generated.

Example:

  • Many sign-ups, few purchases → High Conversions, low Sales.

  • Few actions, high-value purchases → Lower Conversions, high Revenue.

Conversions help you understand engagement and funnel activity, not just revenue.

Example: How Conversions Are Counted.

During a selected period:

  • 120 users submit a lead form.

  • 45 users sign up.

  • 30 users complete a purchase.

  • 10 users complete an upsell.

GrowthOptix calculates: Conversions = 205

Each action is counted individually, even if performed by the same user.

Why Conversions Matter.

Conversions help you understand:

  • Funnel engagement.

  • Channel effectiveness beyond revenue.

  • How traffic moves through key actions.

  • Where users drop off or progress.

This metric becomes especially powerful when paired with:

  • Visitors: Are users taking action?

  • Sessions: Are interactions increasing?

  • Conversion Rate: How efficient is traffic?

  • Revenue: Are conversions generating value?

Best Practices.

To ensure accurate Conversions tracking:

  • Clearly define which events are conversions.

  • Avoid duplicate event firing.

  • Validate events across all key pages.

  • Test conversions after changes to forms or checkout.

  • Keep event naming consistent.

Limitations & Important Notes.

  • Conversions depend entirely on correct event configuration.

  • Attribution models affect where conversions are assigned.

  • One user can generate multiple conversions.

Conversions represent event volume, not unique users.

Need Help?

If Conversions look higher or lower than expected:

  • Verify which events are marked as conversions.

  • Confirm events are firing correctly.

  • Check for duplicate event triggers.

  • Review attribution settings.
